JoAnn P. Bomeisl, Chair

Current Position:

Director of Application Services for NYS Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

JoAnn Bomeisl has served at several agencies during her more than 25 years in government, most recently at the OMRDD. In addition to managing the agency's application portfolio, her latest projects include launching redesigned internet and intranet, leveraging these methods of communications across more than 22,000 employees and the agency's vast constituents.

Information Management Interests:

Promote a secure technological infrastructure to allow for rapid application development with the ultimate goal of improving services to clients and tax payers. Current interests include Identity Access Management, thinking green and maintaining a fluid IT organization to meet the ever-changing roles required to support the technologies (training and recruitment).

Previous Forum Involvement:

Institutional Representative from 1988-1996: Executive Committee member 1990-1992 and 2000-present. JoAnn has participated in many interagency initiatives sponsored by the Forum and OFT. She has previously co-chaired committees on Y2K, e-Gov, Business Continuity and Security Committees and is a member of the steering committee for the Center for Technology in Government (CTG).

Other:

Actively participates in a number of interagency efforts with similarly structured organizations. Out of work, she volunteers her time to teen programs and enjoys golf and down-hill skiing. Ms. Bomeisl acquired a BA degree from SUNY Albany and a MS in Computer Science from Union College.
